Hi, I’m Joanna Sque and I’m the founder of Harmony Design. I aim to give you the home or commercial space you have always dreamed about. Most of my clients find it difficult to interpret that dream, which is where I step in, by tuning into your thoughts and feelings, I can understand and fulfil your needs and desires.
I love mixing neutrals and colours, I like having pretty objects and plants where I can see them and I like to live in a clutter free environment, which is often difficult as I have two young children! My life revolves around them and my husband. We spend lots of family time together. We all love food and walks. My favourite place to be is at the beach, there’s nothing like the sea air and vast outlook to bring peace to a busy mind.
My aim when launching Harmony Design was to provide a one-stop-shop for home and commercial design. Over the past 4 years I have achieved that. I now work alongside trades, builders, structural engineers, architects, manufacturers and retail outlets to provide a full turn-key service.
I have helped clients with kitchen and bathroom renovations, extensions, full house renovations, furniture sourcing, office design, restaurant renovations and much more.
A typical project starts with some concept designs of how to re-arrange the internal layout, this then moves onto choosing the final design and producing CGI photo-realistic images of the space. I love using CGI’s as we can play around with colours and textures before the build even starts.
I then organise a structural engineer and obtain building control permission if needed. Following this we instruct a building team for whom I provide detailed technical drawings for electrical layouts and carpentry plans. I ensure that all work is done in time, to a high standard.
Most importantly I am next to you, guiding you through all the decisions needed throughout the build. From layout to kitchen cupboard spec to wall colours and beyond.
Once the build is under control we start looking into furniture, accessories and finishes. For this we can go on shopping trips and try products, e.g. sofas. At this stage I create more technical drawings to check that everything fits perfectly in place.
My aim is to turn what can be a very stressful process into an enjoyable one. I have Project Managed building sites for the best part of 20 years, so I understand the process and I can handle any issues effectively. I am also here to make the end result beautiful – somewhere you can’t wait to show off!
Talking of showing off, I have a few accolades to shout about! Firstly, I am proud to be a registered Interior Designer with the British Institute of Interior Design. This is a governing body who puts us through our paces. Before being allowed in, I had to prove that I have qualifications in Interior Design plus 6+ years within the industry. I have to complete an annual quota of training and professional development to keep my registration, and I’m governed by a code of conduct. The British Institute of Interior Design allows me to sit alongside top players within my industry such as Kelly Hoppen. I have also won awards, including the Best Disability-Friendly Interior Design Studio 2025 and Corporate Live Wire Residential Interior Designer of the Year 2024.
If you have a renovation project, you’re thinking about doing give me a call, let’s have a chat and see if it we can work together.
