Harmony Design was commissioned to design a fully accessible, Doc M-compliant WC and shower facilities for a family-friendly hotel in Dorset. The hotel wanted to ensure all guests, including those with disabilities, could enjoy a comfortable and restful stay. The brief was to create a non-clinical luxury space that is practical for a busy hotel.
We carefully selected high-end and hard-wearing finishes that connected with the hotel’s brand identity and ensured the accessible shower room felt like a natural part of the guest experience, not an afterthought.
The layout was designed with the appropriate grab rails, level access shower, and purposeful positioning of sanitaryware to comply with DocM regulations. The space is large enough for family or carer support if needed.
Due to being a hotel setting, there is a need for durability, so we have designed this area with materials that can be easily commercially cleaned.
