We were asked to help this company with a new office layout. They were moving into a new unit and were unsure where to place people and departments.
There were lots of rules to follow with this brief, like keeping certain departments separate due to private conversations as well as personality differences. We had lots to consider regarding building control; the client wanted to remove two staircases and add lots of individual offices. Due to this, we were particularly mindful of fire safety (Doc B), accessibility (Doc M), and stair and balustrade safety (Doc K).
Harmony Design added a fire route layout to our drawing pack to highlight why the space was designed in a particular way and explain the importance of certain fire-resistant materials being used. A qualified fire safety engineer should always conduct a separate fire strategy report.
We presented this using floor plans and CGI photorealistic images.
